Spring 2021 Season Ending Schedule

As we bring the Spring 2021 season to a close, we are aligning to the following timetable of events:

  1. The Instructional season ends on Sunday, June 13th.  Upon completion of the last game, coaches will hand out trophies to all Instructional players.
  2. The JRB Season also ends on Sunday, June 13th.  On the last day, all three teams will come to the field and play together for the final game of the season.  Trophies will be presented to all players after the game.
  3. JRA begin playoffs during the week of June 7th with a play-in game on Monday night, bringing the number of teams from 5 to 4, and then the semi-finals are scheduled for Wednesday/Friday/Sunday if necessary.
  4. Seniors begin playoffs (semi-finals) on Wednesday, June 9th, Friday, June 11th, and Sunday game 3s if necessary.

Good luck to all of our playoff teams and for all teams ending the season this coming week!

FGFS's top priority is that all of our players and families are safe at all times.  Despite COVID-19's unpredicatbilty and widespread affect, FGFS has remained in the forefront of preparing our league, players, and families with all the tools to be safe to the best of our ability.  To that end, we were the first youth league in the city with a comprehensive set of guidelines published in the fall to address playing during this pandemic, and these guidelines also served as the model for other leagues to follow in Framingham.

During the summer, FGFS supported two travel teams with full schedules in the Twin Valley League, and one in the fall.  We ran a week long summer clinic in August for more than 60 players, and we supported more than 100 players on teams throughout the fall season.  Each game, practice, and/or session was managed consistently and to the requirements of our guidelines.  We anticipate the same sort of adherence to our policies this spring and look forward to continued fun and success in our program.

Please review these guidelines for an overview of how we manage softball during this pandemic.

FGFS happily accepts donated equipment of bats, gloves, and helmets.  All we ask is that the equipment is in "good usable" shape for the next player to use.  The purpose of the equipment swap is to help players in need of a piece of equipment to play softball.  All available player equipment is stored in the shed at Walsh and is easily accessible by players and coaches.
