The Framingham Fury is a concept that FYS developed almost 10 years ago with a philosophy and culture built around commitment to improve, commitment to teammates, good sportsmanship, and a desire to play softball at a higher level. The program runs very similarly to a club skill wise and schedule wise, and not price wise. Each Fury team is expected to register with USA Softball of MA as a Class C tournament team.

Teams are created based on the age of your child on September 1 (USA Softball age requirements, use this link to determine age level). If you are interested in trying out, please register your child for the appropriate division:

10U eligible players will be 10 or younger on 9/1/24 (typically grades 4-5)
12U eligible players will be 12 or younger on 9/1/24 (typically grades 6-7)
14U eligible players will be 14 or younger on 9/1/24 (typically grades 8-9)

Each team formed will have a player commitment for a full season.  For 12U and 14U, the season will be:

Games in a Fall league (typically 6 weeks of Sunday morning double headers)
Participation in one fall tournament, details TBD.
Weekly practices September through late October.

Spring practices starting once per week in May, twice per week starting in June through July
Participation in 3-4 tournaments May-July, details TBD.

Games in a summer league (typically 6 weeks from late June through July; weekdays only)

Currently, FYS is developing the possibility of winter workouts for Fury teams November through March as well. 

The commitment for 10U is TBD at the moment. The minimum expectation will be the typical summer TVL games for six weeks late June through July. We will hold a 10u tryout in late August for anyone interested in joining the Fury team and based on numbers, we'll define what the year long commitment looks like. Based on existing eligible players, we don't expect that a 10u Fury team will play in a Fall league. Structured practices, tournaments, and a winter workout programs (similar to 12u & 14u) may be on the table, but is dependent on the level of interest at this level. A second round of tryouts may be necessary in the spring to round out the roster. 

Through a tryout process, the Fury seeks to put teams together at as many levels as there are kids to play.  Rosters for the year 2024-2025 must be finalized by Labor Day weekend for the 12U and 14U levels (with games starting the following weekend).  Tryouts for these groups will be held late August.
